Lots of exciting things to work on – and happy to let the timber dictate design and maybe function – which may of course lead to significant problems. Better to design a piece and find timber that would suit.

Talking of design…. Bedside table design at present focuses on the appearance of the table from the end of the bed or looking through the bedroom door rather than considering function and utility. For example, pulling a drawer out from your position sitting or lying in the bed needs a fair amount of contortion. The table lamp, meant to enable bedtime reading occupies too large a footprint and as for the clock – you can rarely see the time from your pillow without cranking your neck into uncomfortable positions. Thus the bedside table is the most impractical piece of furniture that you can ever imagine.
